I instruct juniors on Saturdays at my local sailing club from April to July.

These pictures and videos give a sense of what goes on, we have around forty children in four groups, with a volunteer army of instructors, safety boat teams, shore team and organisers.

Here are some of our newest sailors having fun on a very windy day.

It can be a challenge to get all the children on the water when it’s very windy, and you can see some of our methods here; the boats are loaded up with children and instructors, have reefed (smaller) sails and they are sailing tight into shore.

The more advanced sailors are learning to race, here’s our top group doing a race start.
