This is Swyre Head in Dorset, UK on the Jurassic Coast. November can make for a wonderful light show.

July features one of Swanage Sailing Club’s ‘out of the bay’ races around Old Harry into Knoll Bay. I grabbed the chance to be on safety for this race and it made for some great powerboating.

In the UK, you can sometimes count truly perfect weather days per year on your hand. This day was one of them. Fish and chips by the sea on a sunny day, perfect.

I’ve posted a couple photos of Old Harry Rocks (Google Maps, Wikipedia) in the past, usually from quite a distance, and those photos always look a bit like this:





This is here, on Ballard Down looking north across Shell Bay with Bournemouth on the right and Poole on the left. Spinning round and looking south, is this view of Swanage Bay.

There aren’t many days like this in the year, gotta make the most of them.
